My personal philosophy has grown to include elements from more than one approach. I believe in a holistic, play-based and child centred pedagogy, and seek to build strong relationships with the children whilst I instil core values and a love of learning. In my 10 years working with young children, and raising a few of my own prior to this, I have found that in order for a child to reach their potential they must feel valued and heard. Foremost, I aim to promote a warm place for the children to find their sense of belonging and connection within their learning community.
If the supreme art of the teacher is to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge, my belief is that my role is to recognise those daily sparks of interest for each child and extend upon them.
Ever curious about the world we live in and my chosen profession, I have worked full time as I studied the Cert 3 in Children’s Services, the Diploma, and then graduated from the Bachelor of Education (0-5 years) in 2022. I love to learn and share ideas, and greatly enjoy working alongside the committed team of educators at Leaps and Bounds preschool, Manly.
