I strive to ensure that each person that walks through the door becomes part of our family and I have a strong belief that families are the experts on their children. I believe in providing a nurturing, inclusive and fun environment for all the children in my care. The early years of all children are vital in assisting them to grow and become the happiest and healthiest version of themselves, mentally and physically. Throughout my decade of experience, I have had the pleasure of working with all ages from birth to six years olds. I hold a Diploma in children’s services and love my position as Room leader in the 2 - 3 year old room at Leaps and Bounds.

I am an Early Childhood Teacher with 20 years experience within the industry. I believe that each child is central to their own learning, inspired to know and learn by their own interests. My goal is to harness these interests and inspire the children to question, investigate, create and learn through a rich play-based curriculum. My classroom is always filled with love and smiles and I endeavour to listen to each of the children in my care and present experiences that encourage the children to develop their strengths, problem-solving skills, independence, resilience and knowledge, as well as their creativity. I feel that fostering each child’s sense of belonging, as well as partnerships with families are the foundation of my work, and I strive to build meaningful, positive and respectful relationships with all children and families within the centre.

  • Shanara

    Shanara: Room Leader

I’ve been working with Children for as long as I can remember and believe there is nothing more beautiful in life than watching a child’s face light up when they realise they are capable of more. I believe in nurturing the whole child including their mind, body and spirit and recognise that family and culture are central to a child’s identity. My aim is to take the child’s lead on their learning and support them through collaboration with family and community to extend their interests in as many engaging experiences as possible. My hope is to encourage them in a way that teaches them how to think, not what to think through a holistic approach.

  • Tiffany

Tiffany: Cook / Early Childhood Teacher

My philosophy involves treating each child respectfully as the special and unique individual they are. Since I primarily work in the kitchen, I aim to inspire a love of nutritious food by encouraging tasting new foods, role modelling enjoying a variety of nutritional foods and talking about the different ingredients and meals. I also wish for each child to feel valued, safe and cared for which I hope in turn inspires them to use these positive behaviors with their interactions with peers and other relationships. Lastly, I want them to have fun!
