Manly Preschool Director | Educational Leader | Early Childhood Teacher
We provide a specialised and engaging preschool program with extended hours for 40 children per day. Throughout the day the children will play, sing, dance, create, paint, explore, investigate, story tell and get messy!
Our program focuses on the belief that children learn best through play, following the Early Years Learning Framework. Our preschool is dedicated to nurturing your child and their unique passions while helping them grow, develop and learn.
Our emphasis is on learning through play while building secure, lasting relationships and resilience. We aim to provide a home away from home for your child and hope that Leaps & Bounds will become an extension of your family.
NSW | 2-6 years
Our Manly preschool is a converted church that has been beautifully renovated to provide the perfect learning environment for your child. We enrol children aged 2 – 6 years and are open 7.30am – 6.00pm. We are conveniently located in a quiet residential street in Manly, close to the Andrew Boy Charlton Pool.
As education and consistency is our focus, we aim to have the same teachers and educators on every day your child attends. We invest in each child as an individual and seek to understand who they are, what they love and what they want to explore.
Not only will this ensure your child feels supported, understood and encouraged throughout their learning journey but this will give your child the opportunity to form lasting bonds and relationships throughout their time at Leaps & Bounds Preschool.
Through play, our program focuses on the development of the whole child – physical, cognitive, language, social, emotional and spiritual.
We understand that families have different needs and may require flexibility – Please call Gillian or Ruby, the Centre Director on (02) 9977 8937 to discuss your options.
Manly Preschool Director | Educational Leader | Early Childhood Teacher
I am an Early Childhood Teacher with 20 years experience within the industry. I believe that each child is central to their own learning, inspired to know and learn by their own interests. My goal is to harness these interests and inspire the children to question, investigate, create and learn through a rich play-based curriculum. My classroom is always filled with love and smiles and I endeavour to listen to each of the children in my care and present experiences that encourage the children to develop their strengths, problem-solving skills, independence, resilience and knowledge, as well as their creativity. I feel that fostering each child’s sense of belonging, as well as partnerships with families are the foundation of my work, and I strive to build meaningful, positive and respectful relationships with all children and families within the centre.
Second in Charge / Room Leader
I’ve been working with Children for as long as I can remember and believe there is nothing more beautiful in life than watching a child’s face light up when they realise they are capable of more. I believe in nurturing the whole child including their mind, body and spirit and recognise that family and culture are central to a child’s identity. My aim is to take the child’s lead on their learning and support them through collaboration with family and community to extend their interests in as many engaging experiences as possible. My hope is to encourage them in a way that teaches them how to think, not what to think through a holistic approach.

I believe that children thrive in a creative, caring, and fun environment. I believe it is important to give all children the ability to express themselves through creativity, risky play, meaningful outdoor experiences as well as through warm relationships. I am a fun, energetic and compassionate educator and being a mum of two girls myself, I understand the significant impact early childhood educators have on your little one’s lives.
Early Childhood Educator
I have always had a passion for being a teacher and being part of the ‘first steps’ of children’s education and development. I believe that children learn through imaginative play in safe environments. I feel honoured to work alongside families in providing care, being a part of their child’s life and creating positive relationships with the children.

Leaps and Bounds Pre-school is a warm and welcoming environment set within a beautiful premise. Each child is greeted with a smile and the care from all staff is delivered to suit their individual personality and needs. The routine makes the day flow smoothly and there is an excellent variety in the learning and play opportunities to keep the children engaged. We have very happy to be part of the Leaps and Bounds.Kate
It is comforting to see my son happy and involved with his classmates and with the Leaps and Bounds staff members. They did such a wonderful job developing skills, language and helping with separation anxiety in the most gentle way. He enjoys most of the activities indoor but his favourite is the outdoor area. I’m certainly happy with the decision of making my son part of the L & B family.Jazmin
We are so grateful for everything the staff have done to help Katy to feel at home from day 1. She has truly loved being at Leaps & Bounds and its going to be difficult to go, she will miss everything about Leaps & Bounds. Thank you!Mel

Words cannot thank you enough for the amazing environment you have created and nurtured. Your amazing staff love and respect our children and our family could not be more grateful.Bec
We absolutely love Leaps & Bounds Preschool Highgate and would recommend it to anyone looking for childcare. This is our daughters 3rd daycare & sons 2nd and by far the best we have seen and experienced. The transition went so smoothly with the staff and on the first few days our children got to spend with each other so they always felt safe which meant a lot for us as parents. Our son is more settled than he ever was at his previous day-care and each morning it is such a calm and welcoming environment for the both of them. Drop off’s have never been so easy & it is such a joy to see the kids so settled and happy. They always talk about their friends & teachers when they get home and look forward to going again each day. There is nothing to fault about Leaps & Bounds and we could not recommend a better place for anyone to send their kids.Erica Farrell
I’m so happy with my experience so far at Leaps and Bounds Highgate, After trying one other centre and visiting a couple more I knew I had found the right place as soon as I walked in the door. The teachers are wonderful and attentive with my son and the centre has a beautiful home-like feeling with a great focus on outdoor activities and fun learning activities.Dewi
Thank you for making the transition into Preschool such a positive experience for my daughter. After having her in Family Day care for the past 2 years I was keen to find a Preschool that was small and still had an intimate feel. Leaps and Bounds has certainly created that environment. With caring Educators, small classes, a great outdoor play area and endless creative stimulation she is thriving and loving her time at Preschool.Amy
Two of my children have enjoyed their preschool days at Leaps & Bounds and I couldn’t be happier with their experiences. They have built strong friendships and developed a confident sense of self, thanks to supportive staff and a loving environment. Both children have learned invaluable skills to help make their transition into primary school as smooth as possible. I am sure my youngest child is looking forward to her first day at Leaps & Bounds too.Tina
We feel so very fortunate to have our 2 children attend Leaps and Bounds Preschool. From the moment we walked in, we felt ‘part of the family.’ The carers are all so friendly and approachable and make sure that we are kept involved and informed about the children’s progress every step of the way. The centre itself is warm and inviting, the activities offered to the children are interesting and varied with staff dedicated to extending the children’s thirst for knowledge in the areas they show interest in. Above all my children’s first experience of education is that that learning is fun. They are happy and feel safe, loved and part of a community. What more could I ask for?Amelia
Both my children love attending Leaps and Bounds Preschool. Throughout their time at the Preschool they have established good friendships with other children and carers. The student groups form quite a little team and my youngest can name everyone in her class by first and last name. Furthermore, the programs delivered give students the opportunity to learn new skills and ideas as well as play and explore the natural environment. My children particularly love getting involved in the garden. I really like the student lead learning that is so evident in everyday activities and lessons.Bonnie
