Our Program

Our Program

Our program includes all of the developmental domains: physical, cognitive, language, social, emotional and spiritual.

We value play as a medium for all aspects of development and learning and believe that play should be integrated across all developmental domains and curriculum areas. Since children learn best by doing, they paint, make, sing, dance, dig, plant, and water in a secure and happy home like environment under the guidance of caring and encouraging educators.

We follow the Early Year Learning framework to assist your child to achieve the following outcomes:

  • Children have a strong sense of identity.
  • Children are connected with and contribute to their world.
  • Children have a strong sense of wellbeing.
  • Children are confident and involved learners.
  • Children are effective communicators.

Our service aims to ensure where possible, that programs are available for children with additional needs. As education and consistency is our focus, we endeavour to ensure that your child’s class teachers are the same for each day your child attends. This will give your child the opportunity to form lasting bonds and relationships throughout their time at Leaps & Bounds Preschool.

Our Programs
Classrooms

We provide three classrooms with a minimum of two educators (plus a floating assistant) in each class, so that your child can engage in an education program that is suitable for their age and development. Throughout the day your child will have the opportunity to play and engage with children from all classes, giving siblings the chance to connect, role model, lead, learn and play. Your child will participate in a wide variety of activities throughout the day, with no two days being the same. Other programs include science, art, Healthy Harold, Henny Penny Hatching, sustainability, Project Penguin, cooking, Zumba, multi sports, mindfulness, Munch and Move, yoga and Mandarin.

  • We absolutely love Leaps & Bounds Preschool Highgate and would recommend it to anyone looking for childcare. This is our daughters 3rd daycare & sons 2nd and by far the best we have seen and experienced. The transition went so smoothly with the staff and on the first few days our children got to spend with each other so they always felt safe which meant a lot for us as parents. Our son is more settled than he ever was at his previous day-care and each morning it is such a calm and welcoming environment for the both of them. Drop off’s have never been so easy & it is such a joy to see the kids so settled and happy. They always talk about their friends & teachers when they get home and look forward to going again each day.   • We feel so very fortunate to have our 2 children attend Leaps and Bounds Preschool. From the moment we walked in, we felt ‘part of the family.’ The carers are all so friendly and approachable and make sure that we are kept involved and informed about the children’s progress every step of the way. The centre itself is warm and inviting, the activities offered to the children are interesting and varied with staff dedicated to extending the children’s thirst for knowledge in the areas they show interest in. Above all my children’s first experience of education is that that learning is fun. They are happy and feel safe, loved and part of a community. What more could I ask for?

  • Both my children love attending Leaps and Bounds Preschool. Throughout their time at the Preschool they have established good friendships with other children and carers. The student groups form quite a little team and my youngest can name everyone in her class by first and last name. Furthermore, the programs delivered give students the opportunity to learn new skills and ideas as well as play and explore the natural environment. My children particularly love getting involved in the garden. I really like the student lead learning that is so evident in everyday activities and lessons.
